Warner’s Stellian volunteers participate in a Pizza Paint Party with some our community partners. Our Pizza Paint Parties are just one very essential event we provide. Simply ArtAble programs focus on access, expression and social engagement. Participating businesses can engage socially and creatively with individuals who may have intellectual, developmental, mental or physical disabilities. This increases social satisfaction and mutual understanding. It’s all about Peace and Love.
Come make some fabulous art with us this summer! We offer week-long sessions in a variety of media, from comic art to plein air painting to clay and art wearables – there’s something for every aspiring young artist!
All classes are for ages 5+ and will be taught at each student’s own level. All classes welcome students with disabilities (with a PCA or family member if needed.) Our studio is fully wheelchair accessible!
For students in both the morning and afternoon sessions, a supervised lunch and an hour of high energy activities in our outdoor play area is included with your registration. Weather permitting, we will walk to Pearl Park to play on the playground and in the wading pool.

Drop-in Paint: How it Works
We Supply the Paints, Materials and Cleanup.
Drop-in anytime during our open hours– no appointment needed! Paint in the studio using our professional paints and brushes, with a general lesson from our instructors. You pay a studio fee of $5 per person then choose your items to paint (we have a variety of canvas sizes and accessories and even furniture) either with a pre-drawn design or a blank item for you to customize. Prices for the items and canvases start at $5. Paint for as little as $10 and take home a memorable piece of art! The $5 studio fee is waived for Members. Don’t worry about the mess–that’s our job. No reservations are necessary.
Volunteer at the Studio!
Simply ArtAble often has a need for volunteers to help out with weekend birthday parties, summer camps, release day camps, and special events. This is a great opportunity to learn about a non profit art center and gain experience working with children and people with disabilities. No matter what type of event you volunteer for, you are supporting our mission to provide arts programming for people with disabilities and we thank you!
All volunteers must be at least 15 years old. If you are interested in volunteering please call Jane at 612-354-3961 or use our contact form to tell us about yourself
Tell us a bit about yourself and your interests. Once we’ve had a brief interview with you, you’ll be given the link to our volunteer sign up page and you can select the dates that work for you.
Summer Camps & Release Days: Volunteers assist our lead instructors with summer art camps and school release day camps, including the supervised lunch/play break. Campers are ages 5 and up and of all abilities.
Birthday Parties: Volunteers assist instructors in leading weekend birthday parties. Shifts are 2-6 hour time slots depending on our need and your availability.
Special Events: We host a variety of special events here – such as parties for special needs groups, paint classes for large groups from organizations such as Big Brothers Big Sisters or Mt. Olivet, school field trips, and fundraiser events for Simply ArtAble and other organizations. These events are often for groups of people with disabilities or seniors.
After School Art Club
Our After School Art Club is a class that meets throughout the school year on Thursdays from 2-5pm. Geared for students who attend early-release schools. Students enrolled in this class LOVE to create! They spend the entire school year together and become a tight-knit group who enjoy developing their skills in rendering flora and fauna, landscape, perspective drawing, facial proportions and more using a variety of media from pencil and pastels to watercolor, acrylics, clay, and more. The class is taught a professional artist.
Busing to the studio can be arranged for students who attend Anderson, Anishinabe, Armatage, Barton, Folwell, Whittier, or Windom schools.
Typically, our schedule each day looks like this:
2:00-3:00 – Snack time, other activities (board games, homework, outside play)
3:00-5:00 – Guided Art Project
The class is open and accessible to all children. Those with disabilities may be accompanied by a family member or PCA if needed. Call with any questions or concerns. Scholarships Available for those in need.
Program cost: $35 per day regular price/ $30 per day member price
